Meet Dr. Todd V. Ester

Dr. Todd V. Ester received his Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude) from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and certificate in Endodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Ester has practiced the specialty of endodontics since 1999 and is board certified in endodontics in the state of Michigan.

Dr. Ester completed a general practice residency program at the Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, where he served as chief resident in 1995-96, before specializing in Endodontics. He served as Director of Multicultural Affairs and was appointed an Assistant Clinical Professor of Endodontics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1999-06. As Director of Multicultural Affairs he was collaboratively responsible for planning and delivering programs and services related to diversity issues for students and staff at the School of Dentistry, and coordinating diversity programs and functions for students. Dr. Ester also traveled across the nation recruiting dental students and lectured dental students in their pre-doctoral endodontic courses, as well as nationally on topics pertaining to recruitment, retention and related issues. Dr. Ester practiced with Endodontic Associates, P.C. in Ann Arbor (1999-03) prior to becoming a partner at Renaissance Endodontics, PLLC (2003).

Dr. Ester has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career including the Delta Dental Fund Student Leadership Award, the Albert Schon Award at Harlem Hospital Center, for excellence in Endodontics and the John Corcoron Graduate Endodontics Award, at the University of Michigan for excellence in Endodontics. Dr. Ester has been recognized by peers and the community as a “Top Endodontist” in Hour Magazine (2008-13). Dr. Ester served as a board member with Delta Dental Plans of Michigan (2003-12), has served on the executive board of the minority affairs section of the American Dental Education Association (2001-07) and the education committee of the National Dental Association (2001-07). Dr. Ester is also a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontics and the Michigan Association of Endodontics. He holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Wolverine Dental Society and Detroit District Dental Society.
